What was your favourite memory in UCC?
My best memories remain with the Boole Library, designed as I would say, for all seekers of knowledge even lazy ones like me! Towards the end of the term and in the middle of my dissertation submission, I was under a lot of self-imposed pressure of ‘what’s next!?’, but I was able to rely on the placement cell and counsellors at the universityfor support.
How did your time at UCC help you to get to where you are now?
Ms. Sneha Jheetay is a graduate from the Schoolof Law at University College Cork (UCC) and completed her master’s degree in 2021 in LL.M. (Business Law). She has maintained good standing in academics and has been awarded several scholarships across in various universities in India, Japan and Ireland including the prestigious Government of Ireland –International EducationScholarship (GOI-IES) in 2020.

I have been fortunate to have studied at an institution that upholds this thought. In the one-year master’s program, I was given the chance to explore different facets of commercial and consumer law with hands-on exposure to what it means to be a lawyer in Europe! The trek from moving to a different country while going through uncertainty and anxiousness in the middle of a global crisis was not easy, but the faculty and staff at the School of Law, the International Office and Indian society at UCC made the overwhelming transition a smooth sail. I was not only able to focus on academics but also pursue my varied interests.
What is your advice to current UCC students?
I think students make the fundamental mistake of thinking getting a degree is only to get a job, but in reality, the time we spend as a student is only a warm-up to the big race!
What are you currently working on?
I am happy to say that I have progressed to embed the values of ‘all-round education’ from UCC to ‘work-life balance’ at NearForm Limited where I currently work as a Legal Counsel. I am also a Certified Information Privacy Manager.
